This assignment is a stand-alone assignment. For this assignment, you must complete the CITI Research and Ethics course. All doctoral researchers must complete this ethics training. Capella University uses CITI as the outside ethics course training with modules related to all types of human subject research. You need to save the CITI completion certificate for this assignment and for future use in your doctoral journey.
Go to the Research Ethics Education page (link given in the resources) to find out more about the training and how to register and take the training.
Generally, the modules take 2–4 hours to complete. You can stop and start throughout the modules. Once you have received a score of 80 percent or above, please upload your completion certificate to the assignment area. Be sure to save your completion certificate on your own computer. You must submit it again in the capstone course. The certificate will be important for your Institutional Review Board (IRB) application, too.

The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) is dedicated to serving the training needs of colleges and universities, healthcare institutions, technology and research organizations, and governmental agencies, as they foster integrity and professional advancement of their learners.
CITI stands for Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. It is a web-based training program for university personnel and students in many research compliance areas. Some of the areas covered by the instructional modules are: using human subjects, animals in research, financial conflict of interest, research biosafety and export control. While some researchers are required to take certain CITI modules, anyone at ISU can use this resource.
