Prerequisites
Prior to starting this assignment, student should read and familiarize themselves with the following resources:

- Read approved abbreviations in your textbook on page 46.
Activity Learning Outcomes
Through this assignment, the student will demonstrate the ability to:
- Identify the components of a prescription. (CO 6)
- Identify abbreviations that are approved and acceptable to be used. (CO 6)
- Accurately write a prescription based on a given patient scenario. (CO 6)

Requirements:
- Each week, faculty will present to you a case scenario and you will accurately write a prescription(s).
- Each assignment is worth 45 points, regardless of the number of prescriptions that you are asked to write.
- Prescriptions must be written or typed on the template provided and submitted by Sunday, 11:59 p.m. MT.
Preparing the Prescription
Each prescription must be written on the corresponding PRESCRIPTION WRITING TEMPLATE. Each prescription should contain only one (1) medication. Appropriate abbreviation and units of measurement should be used. Additionally, the following parameters should be set in the template before you begin:
- Font: Times New Roman 11pt
- Single space
- Spacing set at 0pt before and after paragraphs (under page layout)
