Learning Reflection
The importance of health information technology in patient care and quality outcomes has become the focal point in healthcare. During this study period, I have learned the critical role of nursing informatics in the management and utilization of data and other health IT systems to create improvements for quality care (Moore et al., 2020). Over the weeks, I have learned several interesting topics on nursing informatics.

The first topic I found interesting was implementing and evaluating a health technology or information system. Many health systems and software are being implemented in healthcare and the success of these projects depends on the effective implementation process. Additionally, evaluation of the implemented systems is also critical when implementing a project. The evaluation process ensures that the health IT meets the intended goals and that the project is feasible (Hebda et al., 2018). Evaluation is also part of monitoring an implemented system to ensure continuous improvement to attain quality excellence. The second topic that has been intriguing in this course was the evaluation of evidence for credibility and quality of information. Websites are useful tools for information, but not every piece of information is credible and reliable.
The opportunity to interact with classmates through online discussion is another memorable aspect of the course. The discussion brought together varied perspectives, which enabled me to have an open mind, enhancing my understanding of the discussion topics. Additionally, the discussions enabled in-depth analysis of the topics for a better understanding. Group work could have been another valuable approach for gaining an additional understanding of the course topics.
